Melv Mills

Outdoor Manager

I could tell you about my time serving in the Armed Forces or as a Project Manager with the Police but I'm not about to start waxing lyrical about what I've done, where I've been etc. We are not about that here at Oak , we are dedicated to giving meaningful and real life experiences and skills to young people.

My passion is working with hard to reach young people via alternate curriculum or through the Pupil Referral Units we work with. Nothing inspires me more than seeing the difference in young people that are not engaged in mainstream school but love being outdoors learning new skills.

For some it is a difficult area of work and not for the faint hearted but one that I can relate to coming from a similar background myself as a young man. I know firsthand the benefits of being outdoors and how it can shape your future if guided and supported by the right people.
